RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's golf team opens its 2026-27 season Sunday at the Golfweek Fall Challenge at True Blue Golf Club in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament runs Sunday through Tuesday with 18 holes scheduled each day on the par-72, 7,005-yard course.
Eastern Kentucky joins a 16-team field featuring Bellarmine, Central Arkansas, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Mercer, Missouri State, Murray State, Old Dominion, Presbyterian, Radford, Tennessee Tech, Troy, USC Upstate, UT Martin and West Georgia.
The Colonels return four golfers from last season's squad in senior
Zach Watterson, junior
Jameson Corbin, redshirt sophomore
Hristo Yanakiev and sophomore
Jacob Lewallen.
EKU also added transfers
Milton Wallin from West Georgia and
Jonathan Ericsson from UAB, along with three incoming freshmen in Richmond natives
Tucker Jones and
Seth Barker and Sri Lanka native
Reshan Akash Algama.

Pat Stephens enters his 23rd season leading the program after guiding Eastern Kentucky to a third-place finish at last season's conference championship.
Ericsson, Yanakiev, Jones, Barker and Wallin will represent the Colonels in the season-opening event.
The Golfweek Fall Challenge marks EKU's first event as a member of the United Athletic Conference and the first of five tournaments on the Colonels' fall schedule.
