Shumaker is one of two first team All-OVC selections from 2008 returning to the EKU women's soccer team in 2009. The senior from West Chester, Ohio started every game last year for the Colonels and played an astounding 1,776 minutes, meaning she sat out a combined 20 minutes of play all season. 

She is the vocal leader of a Colonel defense that recorded a program-record and OVC-leading eight shutouts last year.
