Freshman #Willie Cruz# made the most out of his first collegiate start on Jan. 9 at Tennessee Tech. The native of Rochester, N.Y., tallied a personal-high 19 points on 8-of-8 shooting from the field in the 78-73 victory. With the score tied at 69 late in the contest, Cruz came through at the free throw line by netting two attempts to keep EKU out in front. Cruz had scored just 15 points total in his first 16 games.
