MONROE, La. – Eastern Kentucky University’s women’s golf team placed ninth at the University of Louisiana Monroe Fred Marx Invitational. EKU shot a 37-over-par 325 in the final round today. The Colonels three round total of 950 was 86 shots-over-par.
The event was held at the par-72 Bayou Desiard Country Club.
Arkansas State won the event with a three-round total of 917, 53-over-par. South Alabama (+58) was second followed by Central Arkansas and Samford (+64) in third.
Eastern’s Kelli Warner shot a six-over 78 in today’s final round to move into a tie for 20th with a three-round total of 234 (+18).
Gabrielle Andersson tied for 31st with a 238 (+22). Leslie Booth’s 240 (+24) tied for 46th. Jena Spenske tied for 48th at 241 (+25).
EKU will be back in action on Oct. 8 when the team competes in the two-day Arkansas State Lady Indian Classic in Jonesboro, Ark.
