Final Results

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Eastern Kentucky’s women’s golf team placed 12th among 15 teams at the LPGA International Xavier Invitational. Xavier University served as the host, but the event was contested at the Legends Course in Daytona Beach, Fla. Three Colonels posted top-50 finishes.

Eastern finished a full eight shots ahead of Mercer University and four shots behind 11th place Western Michigan.

A pair of freshmen were the top finishers for EKU. Taylor Church (233) tied for 30th overall after turning in her best round during Sunday’s final frame. Church carded a 4-over 76, the best round by any Colonel during the event. Linda Hogberg (241) tied for 47th overall.

Sophomore Gabrielle Andersson (242) tied for 49th. Kara Fant (246) tied for 59th and Lindsey Rankin (259) tied for 72nd.

Yale (601) won the team title by three shots over Florida Atlantic (604). Eastern Michigan (604) placed third.

The Legends Course is a par-72, 6,065-yard course. The Colonels will finish off their fall season at the Troy University Women’s Invitational on Oct. 27 and 28 in Montgomery, Ala.
