MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Three Eastern Kentucky women’s golfers are tied for 14th and the Colonels sit in sixth place after the first round of the Troy University Trojan Invitational at Arrowhead Country Club in Montgomery, Ala. Linda Hogberg, Gabrielle Andersson and Kara Fant are tied for 14th overall after opening rounds of 78.

As a team, EKU carded a first round 316 and has a one shot lead over Lipscomb University. South Alabama (314) in fourth and Tennessee Tech (315) in fifth are well within striking distance. Jacksonville State leads the 13-team field after an opening round 303.

Eastern freshman Taylor Church (82) is tied for 36th. Fellow freshman Lindsey Rankin (86) is tied for 58th.

The Arrowhead Country Club is a par-72, 5,916-yard course. The final round will begin at 9:30 a.m. ET on Tuesday.
