Women's Golf Moves Up One Spot, Finishes Eighth At BSU

MUNCIE, Ind. –
Eastern Kentucky’s women’s golf team turned in its best round to finish eighth at the Ball State Cardinal Classic. The Colonels improved by seven shots to 310 in Tuesday’s second round and finished with a two-round total of 627. Ball State (594) won the event by seven shots.

Sophomore Gabrielle Andersson led Eastern and placed tied for eighth overall. Andersson shot a 76 in the second round and finished with a two-round total of 149. Freshman Linda Hogberg (155) tied for 31st.

Freshmen Kara Fant (160) and Taylor Church (163) finished tied for 43rd and 54th respectively. Freshman Katie Wiedmar (177) placed 72nd.

The 2008 Cardinal Classic was played at the Players Club, a par-72 course. EKU will play next at the Xavier LPGA International on Oct. 10-12 in Daytona Beach, Fla.
