The Colonel offense finally came to life in the second quarter, scoring on all three possessions to retake the lead, 20-14. Quarterback #T.J. Pryor#’s 15-yard touchdown run a minute into the quarter cut the deficit to 14-7. The first scoring drive was kept alive thanks to a 43-yard completion to junior
Shannon Davis on a 3rd-and-14 play.
Pryor completed all four pass attempts for 60 yards on the ensuing drive before junior
Bruce Frieson found the end zone with a one-yard touchdown run to even the score at 14-all. In the final two minutes of the half, Pryor moved EKU 62 yards for another score. Pryor completed two third-down passes before capping the drive with a one-yard touchdown rush to give the Colonels a 20-14 lead at the half. Austin Peay blocked the PAT attempt.
