RICHMOND, Ky. – Katy Humphrey of Paintsville, Ky., signed a National Letter of Intent to play golf at Eastern Kentucky University, head coach Joni Stephens recently announced.

Humphrey won the 2009 region championship and placed sixth in the state tournament. Last summer, she won all four events on the Eastern Kentucky Junior golf tour and won three tournaments on the Pepsi tour. In addition, Humphrey was chosen to represent the state in the Kentucky/Indiana Junior Golf Challenge Cup.

Humphrey captured the Class A region title four years in a row and qualified for the state tournament five straight years.

The Colonels will be back in action on March 11-12 when the program hosts the EKU El Diablo Intercollegiate in Citrus Springs, Fla.
