MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men’s tennis team defeated OVC rival Morehead State Tuesday afternoon by a count of 5-2. The Colonels (15-8, 6-0 OVC) kept their perfect league record intact with two conference matches remaining.

EKU got on the board first with victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Straight set singles victories by sophomore Alex Das Izquierdo (No. 1), freshman Parul Verma (No. 5) and freshman Carles Pons Escanilla (No. 6) helped the Colonels clinch the win.

Morehead State’s (8-6, 3-4) lone victories came at No. 2 and No. 3 singles.

Eastern Kentucky concludes its road schedule Friday, April 10 with a pivotal match at Tennessee Tech.
