ROCK HILL, S.C. – Eastern Kentucky lost its first game at the Winthrop/adidas Invitational, falling to Hartford 5-2 on Friday. The Colonels’ second game of the day against North Carolina State was cancelled due to poor weather conditions.

Noelani Esperas. Hartford tied the score in the bottom of the third when Nicole Springer homered with a runner on.
Kate Wacyk’s home run to lead off the fourth completed the Hartford comeback. The Hawks added two more in the fifth.
Gallagher went 2-for-4 with a run and her 19th stolen base of the season. Senior
Jena Handley finished 3-for-4. Springer went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs for Hartford.
The Colonels are scheduled to face Towson at 2 p.m., and Winston-Salem State at 6 p.m., on Saturday.
