RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men’s basketball team plays three games in three days this weekend as part of the 2K Sports Classic. Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., hosts the subregional round which also features William & Mary and Lehigh.
This is the third straight year that Eastern Kentucky has played in an early-season tournament featuring three games in three days. Last year, the Colonels participated in the Nick Kladis Classic hosted by Loyola Chicago. In 2009, Eastern hosted a CBE Classic subregional. Eastern Kentucky was 4-2 overall in those two events.
EKU is 2-1 all-time against Liberty, 1-1 versus William & Mary and has never faced Lehigh. The Colonels last met Liberty in 1989 and William & Mary back in 1965.
The Colonels face host Liberty Friday night at 7 p.m., William & Mary Saturday at 4:30 p.m., and Lehigh Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

Storylines
-- Eastern Kentucky was held to 1-of-19 (5.3 percent) shooting from three-point range at Presbyterian on Nov. 14. The one three-pointer was the fewest made in a game by EKU in seven years under head coach
Jeff Neubauer. The Colonels led the OVC in three-pointers made (247) in 2010-11.
-- Senior
Jaron Jones posted career highs in points (15), field goals made (six) and minutes played (25) in the loss at Presbyterian College. Junior
Mike DiNunno was the only other Colonel to reach double-figure points against the Blue Hose. DiNunno is the only EKU player to score at least 10 points in every game this year.
