EKU (6-5) led by only two, 20-18, with 7:12 remaining in the first half, but ended the half on a 16-5 run as Jones knocked down a baseline jumper at the buzzer to give the Lady Colonels their largest lead of the half, 36-23, at halftime.

Eastern carried that momentum into the final 20 minutes of play, as Coles, Gray and senior Jalisa Bryant all knocked down three-pointers out of the break to balloon the Lady Colonels’ lead to 22, 48-26, at the first media timeout of the second half.

EKU would lead by at least 20 points the rest of the way.

Tuesday’s game was the Lady Colonels’ final tune-up before Ohio Valley Conference action. EKU’s next game is at Murray State on New Year’s Eve at 2:00 p.m.
