RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men’s tennis team rolled past Murray State Friday afternoon, 6-1.
The Colonels (16-8, 6-1 OVC) won the top four singles matches in straight sets. Both
Hugo Klientovsky (No. 1) and
Parul Verma (No. 4) were able to keep their perfect OVC singles record intact.
“I was glad we were able to get all nine of our players some action today and we were still able to get a win,” EKU head coach
Rob Oertel said. “For the most part, we were able to conserve a lot of energy in singles for a big match tomorrow with Austin Peay.”
The Colonels conclude the regular season tomorrow, April 14 with a home match against Austin Peay. EKU needs to defeat the Governors to clinch the No. 2 seed and a bye for the first round of the upcoming OVC championships.
