RICHMOND, Ky. – Following at loss at East Tennessee State on Saturday, the Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team will look to get back on track at Alabama A&M on Wednesday night.
Tipoff at T.M. Elmore Gymnasium in Normal, Alabama is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
EKU (4-4) shot a season low 25.7 percent (18-of-70) from the field during Saturday's loss in Johnson City. ETSU, meanwhile, shot 46.7 (21-of-45) from the floor, the highest shooting percentage allowed by the Colonels all season.
Despite the showing, EKU still leads the Ohio Valley Conference in field goal percentage defense (36.8) by a fairly large margin.
Sophomore
Michaela Hunter paced EKU with 15 points in the loss at ETSU. Hunter has now scored in double figures in seven consecutive games and ranks eighth in the OVC in scoring (14.6 points-per-game).
Alabama A&M (0-8) is winless on the season. The Lady Bulldogs are paced offensively by Brittney Strickland's 16.4 points-per-game.
EKU defeated AAMU, 89-69, last year in Richmond in the only previous meeting between the two schools. Marie Carpenter scored 41 points and tied a school record with nine three-pointers in that win.
Wednesday's game is Eastern's last non-conference road game of the regular season. The Colonels will host Richmond on Dec. 21 before opening OVC play versus Austin Peay on Jan. 3.
