RICHMOND, Ky. – Visiting Morehead State pulled out a hard-fought 5-2 decision over the Eastern Kentucky University men's tennis team Wednesday afternoon.
Four of the six singles matches went to a deciding third set while the double point came down to a tie-breaker.
In doubles, Morehead State's Gabriel Ruiz and Giovanni Samaha won the doubles point by outlasting sophomores
Alex Alvaro and
Florian Graskamp in a tie-breaker, 9-7.
The Eagles (7-5, 3-1 OVC) then won three of the four singles matches that went to three sets. David Clifford's victory over freshman
Sebastian Mueller at the No. 5 slot was the clincher.
For Eastern (8-9, 2-4), Alvaro (No. 2) and junior Juanjo de la Llera (No. 3) were victorious.
The Colonels are back in action with home OVC matches against Murray State and Austin Peay.
