Bryan Soloman was chosen as a second team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), the organization announced on Wednesday.
The NCBWA selected a first, second and third team – honoring a total of 60 NCAA Division I players from across the country.
Soloman led EKU in hitting (.344), home runs (14), RBIs (55) and slugging (.612). The senior from Monroe, Connecticut had an 18-game hitting streak through the heart of the Ohio Valley Conference schedule. During that streak he hit .439 with 10 home runs and 34 RBIs.
He ranks seventh in the nation in home runs, 15th in runs batted in per game (1.02) and 19th in slugging percentage. Soloman was selected first team All-OVC at the end of the season.
Eastern Kentucky has now had at least one All-American selection each of the last four years. With
Ben Fisher's selection as a Freshman All-American last week, EKU has had two or more All-America selections five times in the last nine years.
