RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University tennis teams defeated Tennessee State in OVC action Friday afternoon in the Greg Adams Tennis Center. The women won by a score of 4-0 while the men earned a 6-0 victory.
 
Eastern's women (7-6, 2-0 OVC) won all four singles matches completed in straight sets. Senior Amandine Faouzi (No. 1), senior Marcela Jimenez (No. 2) and freshman Raquel Montalvo (No. 4) did not drop a game in their matches.
 
The EKU men (9-5, 3-0) swept all five singles matches completed in straight sets as well. Junior Alex Álvaro won the No. 1 contest by a score of 6-1, 6-2.
 
Both tennis teams are right back in action tomorrow, March 21 against Belmont. The women will take the courts at 10 a.m., followed by the men at approximately 1:30 p.m.
