RICHMOND Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University track and field team will split the weekend at the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Virginia and the Centre Twilight in Danville, Kentucky.
WHAT TO KNOW - Over 1,300 athletes from 35 schools will converge on Lannigan Field for the Virginia Challenge.

ScheduleWHAT TO WATCH FOR- Senior All-American
Ole Hesselbjerg will make his season debut in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase on Friday night at Virginia. The race is scheduled for around 8:00 p.m. ET. The last time Hesselbjerg competed in the steeplechase for EKU, he finished third at the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene (8:38.75).

Amos Kosgey will make his season debut in the men's 10,000 meters on Saturday in Virginia. Kosgey, the OVC indoor 3,000 meters champion, will be shooting for a regional-qualifying mark of around 29:40.
- Freshman
Carina Schrempf will make her season debut in the women's 800 meters tonight around 8:30 p.m. ET in Virginia. Schrempf won the 800 meters at the OVC Indoor Championships in February (2:11.75). Junior
Julie Mathisen, the OVC indoor mile champion, will compete in the women's 800 meters and 1,500 meters this weekend in Virginia.
UP NEXT - The EKU track and field team will split next weekend between the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa and the Bellarmine Classic in Louisville.
