RICHMOND, Ky. – Travis Rose earned a spot in the field for the 2015 U.S. Amateur Championship by finishing third on Tuesday at the U.S. Amateur sectional qualifying event at the Coldstream Country Club in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The U.S. Amateur will be held August 17-23 at the Olympia Fields Country Club in Olympia Fields, Illinois.
Rose shot rounds of 73 and 69 in the 36-hole qualifier. The West Jessamine High School grad finished with a total of 142, two shots under par and five shots behind the medalist.
Rose will be a junior at EKU in 2015-16.
The U.S. Amateur will consist of two rounds of stroke play before a 64-player match play tournament begins.
