MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's golf team turned in a strong performance Tuesday, finishing third at the Memphis Intercollegiate: Spirited by Old Dominick at Colonial Country Club.
EKU placed two golfers inside the top 10, led by senior
Anders Larson, who finished fourth overall with an even-par total of 216. Fellow senior
Justin Begley tied for sixth after shooting 2-over par (218).
The Colonels posted team rounds of 295-289-296 to finish at 880 (+16), just two strokes behind runner-up Wright State and three shots clear of Troy in the 12-team field. The finish marks EKU's highest team result of the 2026 spring season.
Host school Memphis captured the team championship at 2-over par (866), while Wright State's Timmy Hollenback earned individual medalist honors with a 5-under par total of 211.
Larson continued his strong spring campaign with his second consecutive top-five finish, totaling 12 birdies across the three rounds. Begley highlighted his tournament with 11 holes at birdie or better, including an eagle on the par-5, 18th hole, during the opening round.
Hristo Yanakiev and
Zach Watterson also contributed to EKU's team finish, tying for 21st place at 7-over par (223).
EKU returns to competition April 13-14 at the Bluegrass Collegiate, hosted by Kentucky.
