RICHMOND, Ky. – The EKU women's tennis team battled back to top third-ranked Lindsey Wilson College, 5-2, in Saturday's dual match at the Greg Adams Tennis Center.
The Colonels (4-3) rallied, claiming five of the singles' points to overcome an early 1-0 deficit.
Lindsey Wilson took the doubles' point, but the Colonels swiftly responded. Freshman
Viktorija Demcenkova picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win over 18th ranked Jessica King to give EKU its first point of the match.
Laura Argente won 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 1 spot, before
Corentine Bodin topped 30th ranked Fiona Curty 6-3, 6-4 to put EKU up, 3-1.
Raquel Montalvo and
Margaux Lacroix added wins to put EKU in front for good.
The Colonels travel to Lexington on Sunday to face off against 20th ranked University of Kentucky. Sunday's match is scheduled for 5 p.m.
