Women’s Tennis Concludes Regular Season Hosting Central Arkansas

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's tennis team will wrap up the regular season hosting Central Arkansas on Sunday at the Greg Adams Tennis Center.
 
Sunday's match is scheduled to serve at 10 a.m. ET, admission is free for all fans.  Those unable to attend the match can find live scoring updates online here.
 
EKU (9-18, 2-6 ASUN) has lost its last two matches entering play this weekend, however, the Colonels have scored two or more points in each outing: falling 5-2 against North Alabama on April 4 and 4-3 against Lipscomb on April 6.
 
The match on Sunday will be the final of the 2024-25 season for EKU, who did not qualify for the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament from April 17-19 in Jacksonville, Florida.  The event takes the top six teams of a 10-team league, the Colonels are currently eighth in the standings.
 
Juniors Sasha Parkhomenko and Marilou Cote enter Sunday's match on win streaks in singles play, both won over their Lipscomb opponents last Sunday.  
 
Parkhomenko claimed her eighth win this season in singles taking down Mariia Dolzhenko in a thriller 7-6, 4-6, 7-6.  On court four, Cote evened her season record at 12-12 with a comeback 5-7, 6-1, 6-1 win over Deborah Dominguez Collado.
 
Scouting Central Arkansas
Central Arkansas (10-12, 3-5 ASUN) has won two of its last three matches entering play this weekend.  The Sugar Bears defeated Bellarmine, 4-3, on April 4 and claimed a win at Queens, 7-0, on April 10.  UCA is led by junior Vichitraporn Vimuktananda who won 6-2, 6-1 on the top court last time out, she is 13-9 this season in singles play.
