FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. – The EKU women's tennis team fell to the 73rd ranked Trojans of Troy University on Tuesday, 4-1.
EKU's reigning Ohio Valley Conference Female Tennis Athlete of the Week,
Laura Argente, extended her win streak to five with a convincing 6-4, 6-0 win over Jiayuan Xue at the No. 1 singles spot. Argente has won eight of her last nine matches in singles play.
The win marked the lone victory of the day for EKU.
The Colonels (5-9) return to Richmond for two OVC dual matches this weekend. EKU takes on Austin Peay State University on Friday and hosts Murray State University on Saturday.
Both matches are scheduled for a 10 a.m. start.
