MOREHEAD, Ky. – The EKU basketball teams will travel to Morehead State University for an OVC doubleheader on Saturday at Johnson Arena. The women's team plays at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men's team at 7:45 p.m.
Both games can be watched live on the OVC Digital Network or locally on WYMT-TV.

- The Colonels opened OVC play with three straight wins and will tie its best start since the 2009-10 season with a win over the Eagles.
- EKU (7-11, 4-1 OVC) handed Tennessee State University a 66-62 loss at McBrayer Arena on Jan. 14.

Jalen O'Bannon logged her fourth double-double of the season and second in as many games 15 points and 10 rebounds in the win over TSU. She now ranks sixth in program history in career double-doubles (19).
- O'Bannon (14.3 ppg),
Alexus Cooper (13.0 ppg), and
Shavontae Naylor (11.6 ppg) rank in the OVC's top-20 in scoring. Meanwhile, O'Bannon's 7.2 rebounds-per-game ranks eighth in the league and Naylor's 6.5 rpg is 14
th. O'Bannon (47.6 percent) and Naylor (47.5 percent) also rank in the conference's top-20 in field goal percentage.
- Senior guard
Katie Pippen (44.7) is third in the Ohio Valley Conference in three-point field goal percentage. Pippen is 17-for-38 from deep this season. Cooper (40.2) is 8th in the category. Collectively, the Colonels rank third in the conference, shooting 35.7 percent from deep.
- Eastern Kentucky leads the all-time series, 49-42, over the Eagles. The Colonels won both meetings against Morehead State last season and has won nine of the last 10 dating back to a 78-68 win at McBrayer Arena on Feb. 11, 2012.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Morehead State is 14-5 overall and 4-2 in OVC play. The Eagles have dropped consecutive league games after posting a 4-0 start.
- Redshirt senior Brianna McQueen leads the Morehead State offense, averaging 11.7 ppg.
- MSU is second in the OVC in blocked shots. Junior Brooke Todd's three blocks per game leads the league.

- EKU (8-13, 1-5 OVC) nearly rallied in the final minute to stun host Murray State on Thursday night in Murray. The Colonels trailed by 10 with a minute to play, but pulled to within three, 82-79, with 15 seconds on the clock. The Racers knocked down 4-of-4 free throws in the waning seconds to stave off the rally and preserve the win.
- Eastern shot 52 percent (29-of-56) from the field in the loss, its best shooting performance since a win at Jacksonville on December 7. The Colonels also posted their best three-point shooting night – 42 percent (8-of-18) – since the win over Western Kentucky on November 30.

Asante Gist came off the bench to score a career-high 26 points on Thursday night at Murray State. He also dished out a team-best five assists. Gist ranks 11th in the OVC in scoring (14.8 points-per-game) and ninth in assists (3.8 assists-per-game).

Nick Mayo scored 19 points on Thursday. Mayo has scored in double figures in every game this season, and he ranks fifth in the OVC in scoring (17.4 points-per-game). He also ranks 34th all-time in points at EKU (816) ... with at least 10 games remaining in his sophomore season.

Zach Charles recorded his second double-double of the year at Murray State, scoring 12 points and grabbing 12 boards. He leads EKU and ranks 13th in the OVC in rebounding (6.5 rebounds-per-game).
- Playing through an injury, senior
Isaac McGlone came off the bench and went 5-of-5 from the field and scored 13 points on Thursday.
- McGlone ranks 10th all-time at EKU and is the OVC's active career leader in steals (145).

- Morehead State (8-11, 4-2 OVC) has won four of its last five games, including consecutive wins over Tennessee State and Austin Peay.
- Xavier Moon paces the Morehead State offense, averaging 15.7 points-per-game and 4.7 assists-per-game.
