RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's and women's basketball teams return home to host Austin Peay in a critical OVC doubleheader on Wednesday at McBrayer Arena.
The women's game will tip at 5:30 p.m. ET, followed by the men's game at 8:00 p.m. ET.

- The Colonels trimmed a 12-point fourth period deficit to two, but could not complete the comeback in Saturday's 53-51 loss at Tennessee Tech University.
- With eight regular season conference games remaining, EKU is in sixth place in the OVC standings.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- APSU (11-11, 5-4 OVC) has won four of its last five league games after a 65-45 setback in Jacksonville. The Governors' defeated Southeast Missouri State, 84-74, Saturday in Clarksville.
- Senior center Tearra Banks' 18.1 points-per-game is second best in the league. Banks is fourth in the OVC in rebounds, averaging 7.8 per contest.

- EKU (10-14, 3-6 OVC) has played its last four games on the road. The Colonels come home riding a two-game winning streak, following victories at Jacksonville State and Tennessee Tech last week.
- Eastern erased a 17-point first-half deficit and stormed back to beat Tennessee Tech, 77-69, on the road on Saturday night. It was the Colonels' first win in Cookeville since 2013.

Dillon Avare came off the bench to knock down four crucial three-pointers in the second half at Tennessee Tech. He had been 8-of-49 (16%) from deep in conference play before that outburst.
- Mayo (1.4 blocks-per-game) and Charles (1.2 blocks-per-game) rank fourth and fifth, respectively, in the OVC in blocks. As a team, EKU ranks third in the conference in blocked shots (3.8 blocks-per-game).
- Mayo was named the College Sports Madness OVC Player of the Week on Monday. The native of Oakland, Maine averaged 20.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.0 blocks and 3.5 assists-per-game in EKU's two road wins last week.

- Austin Peay (7-16, 3-6 OVC) has lost three of its last four games, including home defeats to UT Martin and Southeast Missouri last week.
- The defending OVC Tournament champions are paced by senior Josh Robinson, who leads the OVC in scoring at 21.3 points-per-game.
- This is the 113th meeting between EKU and Austin Peay. APSU leads the all-time series, 60-52; however, the Colonels have won four straight over the Govs dating back to the 2011-12 season.
