NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Eastern Kentucky softball team heads south this weekend to play a twinbill against the Belmont University Bruins.
The Colonels (13-17, 2-1 OVC) played three games last week. They swept Austin Peay in a doubleheader on Sunday, before falling at Murray State in a single game on Monday. Game two of Monday's doubleheader in Murray was canceled due to inclement weather.
First pitch on Saturday is scheduled for 1 p.m. at E.S. Rose Park.

Rachel Minogue is leading EKU and the OVC at the dish with a .448 batting average. The number is currently 34
th best in the country. The sophomore has tallied 39 hits, 10 doubles, 24 RBI and three round-trippers on the year. Minogue is second-best on the team in RBI and doubles, and is tied for the team lead in hits.

Mia Sanchez is tied for the lead in hits (39) and boasts a .398 batting average. The Fontana, California native has proved lethal on the bases, safely stealing 15-of-17 times attempted.

Johnkyria Alston leads Eastern in doubles (11), home runs (5) and RBI (27).

- Freshman
Mollie Paulick leads the pitching staff with a 1.55 earned run average. Paulick has struck out 71 batters on the season. Paulick delivered a one-hit shutout and struck out a career-high 11 batters in the Colonels' game two win over Austin Peay last Sunday.
THE OPPONENT
- Belmont comes into Saturday's matchup with a 25-8 mark on the season and a 2-2 mark in league play.
- Kayla Wells paces the Bruins with a .398 batting average.
