MARTIN, Tenn. – Eastern Kentucky University women's tennis turned in a clean sweep of the University of Tennessee at Martin Saturday afternoon, defeating the Skyhawks 7-0, to open Ohio Valley Conference play.

Laura Argente and Raquel Montalvo made quick work of Andrea Plantada and Amella Campbell, 6-0, at No. 3 doubles to put Eastern ahead early.

UT Martin took the No. 1 doubles match, 6-1, to even the score.

Kristina Lagoda and
Viktorija Demcenkova battled at No. 2 doubles, coming up with a tight 6-4 win to take the point.

All six Colonel women won their singles matches in straight sets while
Margaux Lacroix won at No. 6, 6-1, 6-1, to clinch the match.

"Our girls really stood up very well, played with great confidence and kept their cool," Head Coach
Rob Oertel stated. "It's always a tough match at Martin, they always bring energy and their coach does a great job keeping his girls positive. We had some nice scores today."

EKU improves to 6-8 on the year, 1-0 in conference while the Skyhawks fall to 0-10 (0-2 OVC).
