RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's tennis program will host Southern Indiana on Wednesday afternoon at the Greg Adams Tennis Center for Senior Day.
Wednesday's match is tentatively scheduled to begin around 12:30 p.m. ET in between the men's doubleheader at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes early to help EKU honor a five-member senior class of
Mariia Triska,
Marilou Cote,
Masha Fedenko,
Sasha Parkhomenko, and
Zhansaya Bakytzhan for all their contributions to the program over the years.
EKU (9-12) enters Wednesday's contest on a three-match winning streak after defeating Lindenwood (4-3) on March 19, Belmont (4-3) on March 22, and Bellarmine (4-2) on March 29.
On the season, Cote leads the Colonels with a positive 8-7 overall record playing from court No. 4.
She is on a three-match winning streak recently defeating Lindenwood's Paola Garcia (6-2, 6-1), Belmont's Ketevan Jeladze (6-3, 6-4), and Bellarmine's Gracie Hurley (6-4, 6-2) all in straight sets, marking one of the best stretches in her DI career.
Junior
Izem Elif Olcer also enters Wednesday on a three-match winning streak and sports a positive 6-5 overall record this season from spot No. 5. The Turkey native has wins in her last three finished matches over her opponents from Jacksonville State, Lindenwood, and Belmont.
Southern Indiana (1-12) is on a seven-match losing streak and is seeking its first win since Feb. 27 when the Screaming Eagles defeated NAIA Brescia University, 7-0.
