Teri Goodlett Goes For A Team-High 14 Points In EKU Loss At Belmont

NASHVILLE, Tenn. –
Teri Goodlett scored a team-high 14 points and handed out a team-best four assists, but the Eastern Kentucky women's basketball team fell at Belmont, 69-43, Saturday.  
 
After a floater by Shay Solomon cut the Bruin lead to 40-35 with 4:55 remaining in the third quarter, BU used an 11-2 run to close the period and didn't look back.  
 
EKU (2-13, 0-4 OVC) opened the game on an 8-3 run, capped by a three-pointer by Bria Bass with 7:07 remaining in the first quarter. Belmont responded with a 9-0 run of its own to take a 12-8 lead with 5:11 left in the first period.
 
Belmont pushed its lead to nine, 30-21, after a pair of free throws by Maddie Wight with 6:28 remaining in the opening half. However, EKU used an 8-1 run to get within two.  A three by Solomon from the top of the key cut the Bruin lead to 31-29 with 1:50 left in the first half, but the Colonels never got any closer.
 
Catie Kaifes had 10 points and seven rebounds. Solomon pitched in nine points and six rebounds. Bass threw in seven points of her own.
 
The Bruins (10-5, 3-1 OVC) were led by Maura Muensterman who had a game-high 17 points with six rebounds. Darby Maggard had 13 points, five assists and four rebounds. Ellie Harmeyer pitched in 12 points and seven rebounds. Jenny Roy contributed 10 points, six rebounds and six assists.
 
Eastern shot 32 percent from the field. Belmont shot 39 percent. The Colonels were out rebounded 49-26.
 
EKU returns home to take on Tennessee-Martin on Thursday. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
