RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University track and field teams will open the indoor season on Friday, Dec. 6, at Kentucky's Jingle Bells Open inside Nutter Field House in Lexington.
Multi action gets underway at 10 a.m. Field events are scheduled to get started at 1:30 p.m. Track events will open around 4 p.m.
Junior
Quantasia Perry – the reigning OVC silver medalist in the women's outdoor 100 meters – and sophomore
Bryce Favors-Charleston – the reigning OVC bronze medalist in the men's outdoor 100 meters – will race the 60 meters around 4 p.m.
Junior
Ashley Barr – the reigning OVC bronze medalist in the women's indoor 800 meters – will open with the 1,000 meters around 6 p.m.
Senior
Nickson Rotich – a three-time OVC 800-meter champion – will debut in the 400 meters at 5:35 p.m.
The EKU men will be seeking their third consecutive OVC indoor title in 2020.
The Colonel women will look to improve upon a seventh-place OVC finish from last year.
Following Friday's meet, the Colonels will take the rest of December off before continuing the indoor season at Kentucky's Jim Green Invitational Jan. 10-11.
