PINEHURST, N.C. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's golf team finished tied for seventh at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate on Sunday.
 
Erik Lindwall and Andreas Nielson finished tied for 18th at 10 shots over par on the weekend.
 
EKU was tied for third after a day one score of 295 on Friday. Eastern finished with rounds of 305 and 302 to finish with a total score of 902.
 
The Colonels' three round total of 902 tied with conference foe Belmont. EKU finished ahead of teams such as Florida Gulf Coast (903), Xavier (907), Ohio (908) and rival Morehead State (914). 
 
Davidson College (859) won the event by 29 strokes over Radford (888). Old Dominion finished third (889) and Dayton finished fourth (893). 
 
The three-day tournament was played at Pinehurst No.8. It is a 7,099-yard, par 72 course.
 
Billy Basham (228) tied for 35th overall and Willis Gaer (230) tied for 46th.
 
Eastern returns to the course next Sunday at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate hosted by Tennessee Tech at the Sevierville Golf Club.
