EKU Basketball Teams Set to Host Tennessee Tech in Doubleheader on Saturday

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's and men's basketball teams will host Tennessee Tech in an Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader on Saturday at McBrayer Arena. The women tip at 4 p.m. ET, followed by the men at 7 p.m. ET.

Both games will air live on ESPN+.

INSIDE THE SERIES
- This is the 99th all-time meeting between the two teams.
 
- Tennessee Tech leads the all-time series between the two teams, 70-28.

THE COLONELS
-  Eastern comes in at 4-5 (3-2 OVC), after falling to Jacksonville State, 74-60, Thursday night in Richmond.

-  Tennessee Tech comes into the contest at 4-3 (2-2 OVC), after falling to Morehead State, 65-62, on Thursday in Morehead.
 
-  Kesha Brady led the way for the Golden Eagles with 16 points and three rebounds against the Eagles.
 
-  Brady ranks seventh in conference play in scoring, averaging 14.8 points per game.
 
-  The Golden Eagles rank fifth in the OVC in assist-to-turnover ratio in conference play.

WHAT TO KNOW
 
Junior Tre King recorded his fifth double-double of the season to lead EKU (10-2, 4-1 OVC) past Jacksonville State, 69-66, in overtime on Thursday. King had 16 points, 10 rebounds and a career-high four blocks.
 
The win on Thursday was EKU's 500th all-time at McBrayer Arena.
 
Thursday's win was EKU's first overtime victory since Dec. 2, 2017.
 
At 10-2, EKU is off to its best start to a season since 2012-13. A win on Saturday would equal the Colonels' best start since 1952-53.
 
Following five straight wins, EKU has climbed back into the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25®. The Colonels checked in at No. 25 in this week's poll.
 
Eastern leads the NCAA in turnover margin (+8.3) and the Colonels rank second in the NCAA in steals-per-game (12.8) and turnovers forced-per-game (21.9).

Tennessee Tech (1-11, 1-4 OVC) was edged at Morehead State, 57-54, on Thursday night.
