MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – After three straight home games, Eastern Kentucky will play at West Virginia on Friday.

- West Virginia leads the all-time series 2-1. The Colonels won the first meeting in 1979.

THE COLONELS
- The Eastern Kentucky (5-1) defense put a stranglehold on Eastern Illinois in an 82-43 victory on Monday to capture the EKU Hoops Invitational presented by Geneva Financial championship. The Colonels went 2-0 in the event.

Michael Moreno was voted as the EKU Hoops Invitational MVP and joined teammates
Jannson Williams and
Curt Lewis on the EKU Hoops Invitational All-Tournament Team. Moreno had 15 points in each game. He added six rebounds and five steals against EIU. Lewis had 18 points and 10 rebounds against the Panthers. Williams finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
- Eastern Kentucky held Eastern Illinois to 25.9 percent shooting (15-of-58) from the field. It is the lowest shooting percentage in a game by an NCAA Division I opponent against EKU since records are available (2003).
- The Colonels have hit 13 or more 3-pointers in five of their six games this season. Through Nov. 23, EKU is first in the ASUN, and third in the nation, in 3-pointers per game (12.83).
- EKU and West Virginia are among the top-30 teams in the nation steals and turnover margin. The Colonels are 16th in steals per game (11.2 per game) and 16th in turnover margin (+6.8). WVU is 27th in steals (10.4 per game) and fifth in turnover margin (+9.4).
