Final Results

MATHEWS, La. – Senior Billy Basham tied for fourth and the Eastern Kentucky University men's golf team placed ninth at the season-opening LaTour Intercollegiate hosted by Nicholls State University.
 
Basham shot rounds of 1-under 71 and 2-under 70 to conclude with a 141 (-3).  The Louisville, Kentucky native was two shots out of second and four away from first.
 
EKU improved by six shots from its first round score of 302 to finish with a second round 296 on Sunday.  The Colonels' total of 598 was one shot out of eighth and three short of seventh.
 
The 36-hole event was contested at the LaTour Golf Club in Mathews, Louisiana.  The course had a par of 72 and played to 7,177 yards.
 
Louisiana Tech (564) captured the team title by 18 shots over second place Jacksonville State (582).  Houston Baptist (587) was third and Samford (590) placed fourth.
 
Andreas Nielsen (150) tied for 32nd.  Markus Lindgren (152) tied for 42nd.  Axel Nordborg (155) tied for 55nd and Willis Gaer (160) tied for 64th.  Playing as an individual, Pablo Carrascosa Vivas (156) tied for 57th.
 
The season continues for the Colonels on March 4-6 at the Sea Palms Invitational hosted by Western Carolina at the Sea Palms Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Georgia.
