RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University's men's golf team has added incoming freshman Wil Griffin to the 2021-22 roster, head coach
Mike Whitson announced today.
Griffin comes from Hot Springs, Arkansas where he had an impressive junior career.
He was the 2020 AJGA Sanford Junior Open champion. Griffin won 24 Arkansas high school tournaments, where he was named four-time all-conference and three-time Arkansas All-State. He was two-time conference champion and finished as the 5A state runner-up with a low round of 64.
Griffin qualified for the 2021 Western Junior.
"EKU is excited to add Wil Griffin to our program" Whitson said. "Wil's junior career has been very good, and he is a member of that exclusive club of AJGA Champions. Although things developed very late in the process for Wil, it was good to get to know him over the summer and I am confident he will contribute right away this fall and will be a tremendous player in the future."
Griffin was also a two-time all-conference and one-time Arkansas all-state swimmer.
