Eastern Kentucky Hosts Bellarmine On Senior Day To Close Out Regular Season

RICHMOND, Ky. –
Braxton Beverly, Jomaru Brown, Russhard Cruickshank, Isaiah Minter and Jannson Williams will be honored during Senior Day activities before Eastern Kentucky's game against Bellarmine on Saturday.
 
The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET and will air live on ESPN+.  The live radio broadcast of the game is available in the Richmond area on WCYO 100.7 FM, and can be heard worldwide on EKUSports.com.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  EKU leads the all-time series with Bellarmine 3-1.  The first meeting between the two teams came on Dec. 15, 1958.  They most recently played each other on Jan. 8, 2022, with the Knights beating the Colonels 66-61 in Louisville.
 
-  In that first meeting this season, Williams led EKU with 15 points.  Devontae Blanton had eight points, eight rebounds, three steals and two assists.  The Knights were led by Alec Pfriem with 23 points to go along with nine rebounds and three steals.
 
-  Bellarmine shot 50 percent from the field while holding Eastern Kentucky to 39 percent shooting.
 
THE COLONELS
-  Eastern Kentucky is 12-17 and 4-11 in the ASUN after suffering an 81-68 loss at first-place Jacksonville State on Wednesday.
 
-  Michael Moreno continued his hot play of late, finishing with 23 points, six rebounds and two steals.
 
-  Over his last four games, Moreno is averaging 20.8 points and 6.0 rebounds and 1.25 steals per game.  During that span, he has hit on 53 percent of his shots from the field and 46 percent from behind the 3-point arc.
 
-  Blanton contributed 13 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals against JSU.
 
-  EKU had 10 steals against the Gamecocks and committed seven fewer turnovers (14-7).  The Colonels are second in the nation in steals (306), are fourth in steals per game (10.55), second in turnover margin (+6.17) and seventh in turnovers forced (17.86).
 
-  With 15 more steals this season, the Colonels will tie the program record of 321 set during the 2014-15 season.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Bellarmine is 17-12 overall this season and 11-4 in ASUN games.  The Knights have won four of their last five, including a 76-73 victory at home over Lipscomb on Wednesday.   
 
-  CJ Fleming finished with 20 points against Lipscomb.  Juston Betz added 16 points, four rebounds and two steals.  The Knights shot 54 percent from the field.
 
-  As a team, the Knights average 70.5 points and allow just 67.4 points per game.  They have shot 48 percent from the field and have held their opponents to 44 percent shooting.  Bellarmine turns the ball over only 9.7 times per game.
 
-  Dylan Penn, a 6-foot-3 senior guard, leads the team in scoring and assists at 16.5 points and 4.9 assists per game.  He has made 50 percent of his shots from the field and is third on the team with 4.1 rebounds per game.  Fleming, a 6-foot guard, averages 15.3 points per game and has made 89 percent of his free throws (84-of-94).  Betz, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound senior guard, is the team's top rebounder at 6.9 boards per game and second in assists (2.9).
