Colonels Get Revenge On Marshall, Run Streak To Six

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. –
Eight days after falling to Marshall at home, Eastern Kentucky went to Huntington and beat the Thundering Herd, 8-2, on Wednesday.  The Colonels stretched their winning streak to six straight games.
 
Max Williams went 2-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base, two runs and two RBIs.  Logan Thomason was 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored.  Jalen Jones had two hits in three at bats, scored a run and drove in one.  Will King went 1-for-4 with two RBIs.
 
Eastern Kentucky (9-5) scored three in the top of the third and never looked back.  Williams got the scoring started with an RBI single to right.  With the bases loaded, Charlie Ludwick and Conner Davis drew consecutive walks to bring in two more runs.
 
Jones had an RBI double and Williams drove in a run with a single in the top of the fourth to make it 5-0.  King's 2-run double to left center highlighted a 3-run sixth inning for the Colonels.
 
Niko Leontarakis (3-0) pitched 5-plus innings, allowing two runs on five hits, walking one and striking out three.
 
Ryan Leitch went 2-for-3 with a run for Marshall (9-5).
 
EKU will play a three-game series at Austin Peay starting Friday in Clarksville, Tennessee.  The series opener is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. ET.
