SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Eastern Kentucky men's cross country team travels to Notre Dame to compete at the Joe Piane Invite for the second consecutive year on Friday, Sept. 30 at Burke Golf Course. The meet will start at 11:15 am.
"We're very excited about this opportunity to go to Notre Dame and learn a little bit more about our group, as well as from the other groups in the country," said head coach
Cory Erdmann. "I think there'll be five or six top 25 teams there, so it'll be a good race to expose our men to. We will be running most of our team there, but [
Ahmed Jaziri] will be one exception, who will not open until the next meet at Virginia. We look forward to competing against the best in the country. It's what we do here at EKU, and our goal is to be competitive in our conference and at the national level."
Keeton Thornsberry led the Colonels in the last meet clocking an 8K time of 24:22.93 at the North Alabama Showcase.
