Final Results
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Eastern Kentucky University's men's golf team turned in a fourth place finish at the APSU Intercollegiate on Monday.
The Colonels carded rounds of 295 and 293 for a 36-hole total of 588. The team was four shots in front of the Austin Peay "B" team (592) and 18 behind third place Bellarmine (570). Morehead State (566) captured the team title by three shots over host Austin Peay (569).
The 36-hole, one-day event was contested at the Clarksville Country Club. The course had a par of 72 and played to 6,811 yards.
Playing as an individual,
Gehrig Sexton led the Colonels and had a top-10 finish. The sophomore from Monticello, Kentucky carded rounds of 75 and 3-under 69 for a total of 144. He tied for eighth overall.
Kannon Tucker followed a first round 75 with a second round even-par 72 and tied for 14th with a total of 147.
Justin Begley (148) and
Malik Dao (148) finished one shot behind Tucker and tied for 18th overall.
EKU will be back on the course next Monday for the two-day Xavier Invitational at Makatewah Country Club in Cincinnati.
