RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University's men's basketball team will host Northern Kentucky University on Sunday at Baptist Health Arena.

Sunday will be EKU's Holiday Hoops Game, featuring photos with Santa, a balloon artist and in game holiday promotions.

THE COLONELS
-Â EKU (4-5) led early in the second half but couldn't hold off a comeback in a 73-62 loss at Louisiana on Wednesday.

Isaiah Cozart just missed a double-double against the Ragin' Cajuns, finishing with 16 points, nine rebounds and four blocks.

-Â EKU's season-high 19 turnovers at Louisiana led to season lows for points (62), field goals (22), field goals attempted (55), 3-point field goals (5) and 3-point field goals attempted (17).

-  The Colonels have only been out-rebounded twice this season. EKU leads the Atlantic Sun Conference with a 7.1 rebounding margin.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Northern Kentucky improved to 6-5 this season after beating the University of the Cumberlands, 94-59, on Thursday. The Norse are 2-0 in the Horizon League after earning wins over Robert Morris and IUPUI.  Â

- NKU is averaging 74 points and holding opponents to 69 points per game. The Norse are shooting 47 percent from the field and allowing opponents to hit on 45 percent.

- Marques Warrick, a 6-foot-2 senior guard, leads the team in scoring at 19.5 points per game. He has connected on 43 percent of his shots from the field, 33 percent (24-for-72) from 3-point range and 86 percent (49-of-57) at the free throw line.

- Guards Trey Robinson (5.5) and Sam Vinson (5.3) are the team's top rebounders. Robinson is a 6-foot-6 senior and Vinson is a 6-foot-5 junior. Vinson also contributes 14 points and 3.2 assists per game.

-  The Norse are 23rd in the nation with 9.6 steals per game. Northern Kentucky turns the ball over 3.8 fewer times per game than its opponents.

INSIDE THE SERIES
- EKU leads the all-time series 7-5. The Colonels are 7-1 against the Norse in games played in Richmond, including winning five straight on their home court. The first meeting between the two programs was in 1977. EKU and NKU did not play between 1992 and 2017. Since renewing the series in 2017 the teams have alternated wins with each winning on their own home court.

Tayshawn Comer answered a 3-pointer with one of his own to tie the game with a minute left, but Northern Kentucky scored the final three points to pull out a 64-61 win on Dec. 14, 2022.Â
Devontae Blanton led all players with 23 points for EKU. Xavier Rhodes led the Norse with 19 points. Warrick, who came into the game averaging 20.4 points per contest, was held to nine points on seven free throws and one field goal.
