SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Pedro Garcia-Palencia, Ahmed Kadri, and
Joan Tapias dominated at the Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Meyo Field at the Loftus Sports Center.
"Our group accomplished what they set out to do today, and I was very pleased with how they performed. In particular, we saw Kadri break a ten-year-old school record. Our distance group has taken so many steps forward over the past year. I look forward to watching them continue improving as we compete at the ASUN Indoor Track and Field Championships and move into the outdoor season," head coach
Cory Erdmann said.
Kadri broke the school record for the men's 800-meters with a time of 1:47.65 while finishing in first place in the event. His time is currently ranked #26 in the country.
Garcia-Palencia won the mile run with a personal-best time of 4:04.39 and Tapias won the 3,000-meters with a career-best time of 8:12.81.
