Kipchumba Earns Bronze Medal In Men’s 10,000-Meters At Day One Of The ASUN Outdoor Championships

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Enock Kipchumba earned a bronze medal in the men's 10,000-meters, posting a personal-best time of 29:41.02 at Day One of the ASUN Outdoor Track & Field Championships at North Florida's Hodges Stadium.
 
The EKU men sit in fifth place and the women's team is in eighth place after one day of action.
 
Griffin Staude finished in eighth place in the men's 10,000-meters with a time of 30:58.78, netting one point for the Colonels. Grace Kilroy (7th / 37:03.79) also scored two points for the Maroon and White in the women's 10,000-meters.
 
T'ya Suber posted a personal-best 200-meter time of 24.32 to advance to the finals. Jake Welch clocked a career-best 200-meter time of 21.57 while Devin Taylor ran a 200-meter time of 21.63 to advance to Saturday's finals.
 
Irene Rubio Miralles (4:37.63) qualified for the finals in the women's 1,500-meters. Joan Tapias (3:46.62) and Aniol Borras (3:50.14) both posted personal-best 1,500-meter times to advance to the finals on Saturday.
 
The second day of the ASUN Outdoor Track & Field Championships will get underway at 2:15 p.m.
