EKU is coming off a 1-0 loss to Central Arkansas in the Atlantic Sun Conference Match of the Week on Thursday. Despite the loss, the Colonels have won three of their last four games and have nine points in the conference tables.
As on Saturday, EKU is fourth in the conference standings, one point ahead of North Florida and Austin Peay.
Freshman forward
Ella Grode was named the ASUN Conference Player of the Week and Junior defender
Kaitlyn Rowlett was named the ASUN Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. Grode logged a team-high four shots in the loss to UCA and Rowlett played the full 90 on the back line with one shot on goal attempt.
Other freshman forward
Ana Manning re-entered the starting lineup last time out, she totaled 65 minutes up top with just one shot attempt, the second lowest total of her young career.
Scouting North Alabama
UNA enters play on Sunday on the wrong end of four consecutive shutout losses in the conference slate to Queens, Austin Peay, Lipscomb, and Bellarmine. The Lions lone win came against ASUN newcomer West Georgia in the opener, 3-0.
Senior forward Haley Patterson leads the club with 17 shot attempts this season, two Lions combine for a team-leading two goals through 12 fixtures.
History vs. North Alabama
Sunday's match is the fourth meeting between EKU and North Alabama. The Colonels lead the all-time series 1-0-2 with a 3-0 win in the first meeting and two scoreless draws in the last two meetings in 2022 and 2023.
