EKU Women’s Golf Wraps Up Bettie Lou Evans Invitational

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's golf team finished the team's season opening tournament at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational on Tuesday at Champion Trace at Keene Trace Golf Club.

For the tournament, the Colonels shot 931 (+67) as a team across the 54-holes finishing in 10th in a loaded Division I field of 11 total teams.

We didn't finish how we wanted today but we are still taking some positives away from this event," said head coach Mandy Moore. "Claira Beth had a great round yesterday and our team was about three holes away from a really good team score in the second round. Everyone had stretches of holes that were good so we're going to learn from our mistakes and keep getting better."

EKU's highest individual finisher was Claira Beth Ramsey in 42nd after shooting 16-over for the tournament.

The sophomore from Richmond shot a team best, and a career best, 70 (-2) in the second round of the tournament, with five birdies on the day.

In 46th was Dili Sitanonth who shot 17-over across the three rounds with her best round coming on Sunday as she carded a 75 (+3).

Imogen Jessen finished in 50th in her EKU debut, as the Australian finished at 19-over.

Karra Tucker and Mary Keene Marrs both finished tied for 53rd, shooting 20-over for the tournament.

The Colonels will now prepare for the Cardinal Cup hosted by the University of Louisville in Simpsonville, Ky. beginning this Friday, Sept. 13.
