RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's golf team is set to begin its 2024-25 season at home this Saturday with the Colonel Shootout at the University Club at Arlington.
The tournament will be a 54-hole event, with the first 36 holes being played on Saturday, and the final 18 on Sunday.
Arlington will play as a par-71 tract for the tournament at 6,690 yards.
The Colonels will welcome 13 teams including, Canisius, Tenn. State, West Georgia, Chicago State, Kentucky State, Alabama A&M, Evansville, Detroit Mercy, N.C. Central, Mercyhurst, and Robert Morris, with individuals from Cincinnati and Vanderbilt also competing.
For team scores, each team will have six competing members, with the best four scores counting to the team score.
EKU's lineup will feature three newcomers via the transfer portal in
Anders Larson,
Jackson Finney, and
Connor Gdovin. They will be joined by returners
Zach Watterson,
Justin Begley, and
Alec Barker.
Competing as individuals from EKU will be
Jameson Corbin,
Carl Space,
Gehrig Sexton,
Kannon Tucker,
Isaac Meador, and
Camden Robertson.
