EKU Women’s Golf Begins 2024-25 at Bettie Lou Evans Invitational

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's golf will tee off its 2024-25 season this Sunday, Sept. 8 at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational hosted by Kentucky at Champion Trace at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville.

The 54-hole tournament will be held through Tuesday, with one 18-hole round being played each day.

Champion Trace is expected to play as a par-72, 6,261-yard course throughout the tournament, with tee times on Sunday and Monday and a shotgun start on Tuesday.

11 teams are competing in the event, including Kentucky, Akron, Eastern Kentucky, Houston, Illinois, Indiana, Louisville, Middle Tennessee, Missouri, TCU, and Washington State.

Hitting the links for the Colonels will be Dili Sitanonth, Claira Beth Ramsey, Karra Tucker, Mary Keene Marrs, and Imogen Jessen. Competing as an individual will be Maddi-Jo Benton.

Sitanonth looks to build off a solid end to her junior year a season ago, as she finished the 2023-24 season as the runner-up at the PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship at TPC Sawgrass.

The Thai golfer finished the tournament one stroke off the lead with a total of 223 (+7), marking her best finish as a Colonel.

Sunday's opening round in Nicholasville also marks the beginning of freshmen, Imogen Jessen, Karra Tucker, and Maddi-Jo Benton's careers as Colonels.
