RICHMOND, Ky. – Another familiar name is returning to Eastern Kentucky University as Noah Combs has been announced as the new men's golf assistant coach by head coach
Pat Stephens on Monday.
A Colonel alumnus, Combs competed under Stephens from 2014 to 2018.
As a student-athlete at EKU, Combs was instrumental in the Colonels' 2014-15 Ohio Valley Conference Team Championship and earned first-team All-OVC honors in both the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons.
Combs ranks fourth in program history for total rounds played with 129, eighth in career stroke average (73.65), and holds the third-best single-season stroke average (72.14) during the 2016-17 campaign.
In 2016, Combs helped lead EKU to four team tournament victories in the fall and an additional win in the spring. As a freshman during the 2014-15 season, he recorded the lowest round (72) of any Colonel at the NCAA Regional in San Diego.
Over his collegiate career, Combs achieved 22 top-20 finishes as an individual, including six top-five placements and one individual title.
A native of Pikeville, Kentucky, Combs is married to Margaux Combs, who played tennis at EKU from 2015 to 2018. The couple has one son, Elijah.
