EKU Women's Golf Adds Two For 2026-27 Season

RICHMOND, Ky. – Richmond, Kentucky native Mollie Neeley and Noblesville, Indiana native Josie Kelley will join the Eastern Kentucky University women's golf program in 2026-27.

Neeley was part of two Kentucky State Championships (2022 and 2025) and two state runner-up performances at Madison Central High School.  She placed 27th individually in the  2022 state championship and sixth in 2025.  She led Madison Central to the lowest tournament team score in KHSAA history (604) this season.

Following her freshman season, Neeley won the 44th Kentucky Girls Junior Amateur at the Cardinal Club in Louisville.  She made first team all-region as a junior, winning the Henry Clay Invitational and the Region 9 Tournament with a season low 1-under par 71.  Neeley finished the 2024 KHSAA State Tournament tied for 11th and helped MCHS to a runner-up finish.

As a senior this fall, Neeley won the KGCA Invitational, shooting a personal best 5-under 67.  She won two more individual titles and shot  four rounds under par for the season.

"We are very excited to add Mollie to our team," said EKU Head Coach Mandy Moore.  "We love it when we can keep local talent at home, and I know she will be a great addition for us.  Mollie is a very athletic multi-sport athlete and knows what it takes to lead a team.  Her high school team has had a great run in her time there, and we are looking forward to watching her grow as a Colonel."

Kelley is the third ranked player in Indiana's class of 2026 and ranked 155th globally in the class of 2026.  She was a 3-time all-state selection at Noblesville High School, and earned all-county and all-conference recognition four times.  Kelley placed in the top 10 at the Indiana State Tournament three straight years with a personal best fourth place performance as a senior, finishing with a 3-over total of 147.

As a senior, Kelley posted a 72.8 scoring average.

Kelley finished in the top 10 at the Indiana Women's State Amateur in 2024 with a score of 220 (+4) and again in 2025 with a score of 219 (+3).  She was the runner-up at the 2025 Indiana Girls State Junior with a score of 218 (+2).

"Josie is not only a great golfer, but an even better person," Moore said.  "She is a fantastic teammate and is really passionate about the game we love.  Josie has a lot of good tournament experience and team success with her high school team.  I think she will make an immediate impact on our program and I'm really looking forward to being her coach."

The Colonels have concluded the fall portion of their 2025-26 schedule.  EKU will return to action Feb. 16-17 at the Texas Golf Throwdown hosted by Sam Houston State.
