Cassidy Trahan was chosen as the Atlantic Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week and the ASUN Freshman of the Week, the league announced today from its Jacksonville, Florida headquarters.

In two victories last week, Trahan averaged 6.13 digs per set. She averaged more digs last week than any other player in the conference.Â

The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native had a match-high and career-high 30 digs in a win over Lipscomb. She totaled a match-high 19 digs against Austin Peay.

For the season, Trahan is averaging 4.27 digs per set, which ranks first in the ASUN.

With four matches left in the regular season, the Colonels are in a four-way tie for first place. EKU will host Bellarmine on Friday at the Olympic Sports Training Center at 6 p.m. ET.
